why do people here spend so much effort on pushing stuff they don't like down instead of lifting stuff they do like up?
Like why do you guys prefer talking about genres/games you don't like over talking about games/genres you do?

What value does this replayability have if it's all incoherently generated together without a distinct design to it? People like you get mad about using AI for the assets yet have no problem of what is essentially using AI to design the game in general.

I've been playind CDDA on/off since 2013. (I think most people play it for a burst and then return to it after months/years, right?) and I only made an actual base with high effort once. After that I always turned nomad. And not even with one of those huge driving killer mobiles that are more like moving fortresses. Just a motorbike or small car with an actual tent and sleeping bag. Super comfy to park by a river to fish and then do nightly raids into the nearby town.

Honestly IDK what state the game currently is in. Over the years the devs have been increasingly anti fun, nerfing shit for no good reasong. I think last they nerfed solar panels IIRC.

I just checked the forums. The removed the optional(!) stats through skills mod.
Here's the pull request
https://github.com/CleverRaven/Cataclysm-DDA/pull/80780
Most people disliked this change. IDK what happened to the devs over the years.

I've mostly been playing on the bright nights fork just because I didn't like some of the more granular autistic management. I love playing through the unique scenarios
Anonymous No.716207954

Wasn't there also a ""dev"" that did basically nothing but commit changes that removed items and stuff?
Anonymous No.716208031
>>716207909
I actually like the autistic granularity but there was once a sweet spot between it just being a survival simulation but also just a fun game with entertainment value that had loads of options for player expression.

It shifted more and more to the simulation side and all the whacky and fun stuff got removed or relegated to mods (most of which are out of date by now).

Noita is just watching a wand building tutorial and then building a godwand to trivialise the game.
Anonymous No.716212880 >>716213031

you only need tutorials if you want to do NG+ meme shit. Going through the main path and maybe a parallel world or two is the perfect amount of wand building without assistance.
The wands that teleport you perfectly to the next parallel world is beyond autism

Noita is also completely underusing the FE-engine. I love roguelites but the formula is an utter waste on Noita. A handcrafted puzzle adventure (but still with combat of course) where the spells are carefully given out at specific points to deal with pre-defined challenges would've been the best fit.
I mean the devs themselves said that rogue lites were trendy at the moment, that's why the went with it. Shame
