KH2 improves the combat a lot but unfortunately the game never really pushes you to learn the ins and outs of the combat system unless you commit to the optional post game bosses. The strength of devil may cry is that at all times, it's pushing you towards getting better at it, the game is all about mastery. KH is generally more about button mashing for 40 hours and then actually learning the combat in the endgame. I think it's reasonable to enjoy KH2's combat more than the DMC games but obviously OP is just a retard.

it doesn't, 90% of people beat these games by mashing dummies to death and sometimes launch into a little combo for flavour, the games genuinely don't do shit to make you play cool, just a braindead button masher until you reach dmd (3 playthroughs in btw)

Anon if you don't care about the game telling you that you're playing poorly, then yes, I don't expect you to feel encouraged to get better. Much like how if you don't give a shit about score, then the replayability of a score attack game is gonna be pretty much nil. The point is that it has at least SOME indication to the player that they should try to get better and a metric to judge what getting better looks like. Meanwhile KH doesnt really put up a fight until the post game unless you're on critical mode and not using Second Chance, Once More and Leaf Bracer. It's fun to get good at KH2 but there's no reason or even really method to learn to play well until the post game with its repeatable fights against super powerful enemies.

You barely see anyone discuss dmc games here outside of action threads or anti dmc threads unlike DaS, DS1, etc.

In Kingdom Hearts there's no score to keep track of. Its an RPG with ACG mechanics without score bound to it, you can only finish it faster if you play it well.
