honestly, its so fucking...boring
even if you put all the memes aside for the uglified characters, shit writing, etc the game is just... meh. its basically another case of a single player MMO with completely boring characters surrounding you and missions about collecting 15 alien anuses to pad the content. The only good part about it was sone of the actual gameplay like moving around/shooting, which is way better than the old games, but its just not enough. And apparently bioware thought they had gold on their hands with that cos they went ahead and made fucking anthem thats obviously based a lot of the gameplay of Andromeda and we all saw how well that went

I downloaded it again yesterday on PC and remembered that it has no fucking native controller support. Had to keep reapplying the patch because the EA launcher is cancer, but it all worked out in the end. Realized I'm a lot shittier at video games than I was a decade ago lol. Could barely clear gold with randos.

It will always live in the shadows of the original trilogy. So much could go wrong, but I think they'll put some real effort into it because a flop will literally end the studio. Not really. You're stuck in another galaxy with familiar alien races, but the new race you meet and their mortal enemy are the main focus, since this is a new first contact situation for everyone. You're painfully aware everyone in the Milky Way is dead, except for long-lived races, and some of your companions even point this out multiple times (the black dude whose name I can't remember literally left behind a perfectly fine life because he wanted to EXPLORE, knowing he would never see his family again). You can listen to some messages left by Liara and Shepard about the Reapers iirc, but that's it. Even the ship's technology and the overall style don't remind me of ME, even though logic dictates the aesthetic should be the same.

No idea how they will merge the two galaxies, though, if that's what the preliminary ME5 artworks they showed implied. Maybe the guys in the Milky Way will send a message saying the Reapers are finally gone and some people from the Andromeda Initiative will come back bringing the new aliens with them?

The second one had the most variety and dialogue, but most of your options were still human.
