Companies like Mihoyo and Nixon are getting yearly revenues comparable to the revenue generated by all the games of a regular company like Steam and Nintendo just by their like 3 games.
Even the actual proper companies themselves are slowly switching to gacha, hell, that project moon company basically stopped making games to solely focus on that one shitty gacha made for SEAsians.
Is every game dev not fuelled by pure passion and actually wants to make money just going to switch to gacha? Is it genuinely Joever?

It's been known for a solid decade now that passion won't get you anywhere.

it's clear that people are gravitating more towards gachas with high budgets and an actual semblance of gameplay like mihoyo's games which may reduce the interest in png collectors
so far these have the advantage of being far lower in cost and being able to provide sluttier girls, but the trend towards the former games has begun for several years by now

This is the kind of reductive mindset that the psychopathic capitalist system and its goons want to foment, but it's not really the whole concept. It denies why people want to do things and elevates the idea that money is the only worthwhile enterprise, which is evidently nonsense by the infinite amount of other human endeavours, I mean games themselves literally exist because people had imagination and want to play.

It's the same kind of logic as, "well oil companies make the most money, so why don't we all become oil company CEOs?", it is childishly simplistic. You're right in that these AAA companies and a certain portion of developers will salivate over the perceived easy buck, but that shit won't stop the indie dev with a dream of making his vampire platformer or whatever.

It's funny how cheap to develop TCG Pocket must be and the absurd amount of money it makes. Then you have games like Genshin tryharding as much as they possibly can and they only make half as much money.

Gachaslop is purgatory for tired gamers. After being bombarded with DEI, lazy AAA cinematic slop, no gameplay, fotm streamer garbage, multiplayer cancer, and ports, gamers are only willing to do gacha dailies and look at attractive anime women (China) instead of engaging with the current state of the industry.

It's the same reason why an otherwise 8/10 game like E33 is being called not only game of the year but game of the decade, because it literally had no competition since 2007.
