Consoles are only nostalgic for the new IPs that started on their platforms and became popular during their run.

The PS5 was just a PS4 pro pro.

I think people will just lump both of these generations together.

The PS6 will actually have path tracing as a base lighting. Not to mention hair,cloth,water, and materials will get a huge boost.

Ah, yes. People will be notalgic for all those 17 Cazzarion games on the PS5.

I have all the previous gen consoles that were released from 2012-2014 and looking back I only have nostalgia around Splatoon and the miiverse.
It's not even the WiiU itself just those two experiences because I know they're gone now, I don't see anything of this current gen that people could look back on and reminisce about

PS4 and PS5 have no real identity. They're mediocre consoles built with mediocre off the shelf PC parts and only have enough noteworthy exclusives to count on two hands, or one hand in the PS5's case.

No one will ge nostalgic for the ps5 or series x. Lost console gen with no exclusives and very few great games

It doesn't. PS5 is just the default home console. If you want a PC you buy a PC, if you want a console you buy PS5. The days of buying a console for games and being an idort are over.

More like 80fps with VRR and never hitting 120fps. The only game I've seen consistent 120 fps in on base PS5 was Uncharted 4 Remaster.

You can buy anything that's in the PS5 except the custom audio engine and SSD controller. Same uarch on PC, just less crippled in terms of cache and clocks.
You couldn't buy Cell or a PowerPC CPU for your desktop during PS3 era although the PS3 GPU was also an off the shelf nvidia chip. Same for Vita which used a phone SoC. On the other hand you couldn't buy the custom RISC chips in earlier Playstations.

PS4 was one of the greatest console gens and is still going with current releases. A substantial portion of steam users have lesser hardware than a PS4.

PS5 is a better version of a PS4 because it’s backwards compatible and improves on every feature of PS4 and builds on top of that. The saga continues with PS5 Pro and the legendary run will carry on with PS6.

I'll remember mine for Bloodborne and Gravity Rush 2. Otherwise, you're right. PS4 was by and large a box that did the bare minimum well enough to succeed on the merit of not being the alternative options of the day.
