The game will have zero story or explanation about anything in the world until Uranus, so expect the game's story to start there. Ignore the open worlds, its already a travesty that you're forced to do their opening story missions as a new player when you have no idea what is even going on or how they relate to anything.
Focus on completing the star chart above anything else, using and upgrading mods will become necessary from Saturn and beyond so if you find it super overwhelming at first you can ignore it for a good while.
