Because "people" in this industry are a majority of children/man children themselves who don't respect themselves and will gobble corporate dick for no good reason. Its overall a fucking shit show. If game devs did/said even 1/4 of the shit they do in ANY other actual industry, they would get immediately canned. Video games aren't a serious industry, at all.

Man i know exactly how it is. My work is the same. It doesn't matter tho, the only thing that matters is pleasing your customers. We've known about this for a long time. Even though xiv helped keep them afloat they always reinvested the minimum amount of money into it. It happens at every dev really. They'll use big profits from one game to help another instead.

The Answer if you didn't know is because it's your job and actually DOING your job is literally the minimum required. If they wanted thanked for something then they should go feed the needy and elderly or do something that matters instead of sitting in a fucking chair at a keyboard all day.

The art directors, level designers, narrative writers, etc are the real reason games such. Evn they are not free to make decisions because corporate constrains them.

Is her issue the WHY that people are giving for the symptom? Because that's not really the relevant part.
XIV releases are slow and formulaic. Why are they like that? Maybe it is because the devs have gotten too comfortable, but I don't really care why. I just want the issue fixed.
If her issue is just that people are criticizing the game, then maybe being a community manager isn't the right job for her.
