He's from a series that would genuinely be improved 700% if they just threw in some dumb world building nonsense and skipped literally everything else in their "plot"
To be fair he isn't completely wrong the people who make youtube 3 hour analysis on the fromscraps and the retarded viewers that watch it are a part of them problem. No one is supposed to care that much about lore that can be explained in 1 minute.

It's true. I love Dark Souls, it's one of my favorite games of all time, played countless runs, hundreds of hours, got all the steam achievements, yadda yadda yadda. But there's no fucking plot. And by that I don't mean that there's literally no plot, just that it's so minimalist that it might as well no be there. There's no engaging themes, no memorable characters (I'm talking about actual personalities, not boss designs), and the events that unfold throughout the game story-wise hold no emotional weight. And I don't give a fuck about the lore. I stopped caring about that shit when I got to my n-th fantasy book series back when I was a kid and realized that I couldn't be arsed to engage with yet another bunch of dry world-building fact encyclopedias. If it's not relevant to the plot, I don't care. I've never watched a single lore video about Dark Souls and I have zero interest to.

I would argue the souls, bloodborne, and elden ring at least have some sort of theming and characters but I definitely agree there's no weight to any events in those 6 games at all you just go and kill stuff the end.
