Played y7 recently and really liked it, despite being barebones mechanically. Playing iw rn and must say, it's a straight downgrade story and writing wise. What happened? Is this done to appease the masses or to make it interesting for girl gamers?
I'm in chapter 3, will the story get more interesting? Ichiban is the very definition of flanderized in the sequel.

Idk if y5 is the best game, it's tedious af at times, but had it's moments. I'd wait for a kiwami, as 5 does drag itself. Y7 is takuza: dragon quest.

I personally think Mine from Y3 is fucking stupid and no other side villain in 3 carries the slack. In comparison, Someya from 6 makes up for the final boss.

It's one thing to show Kiryu entrusting future to Ichiban yet again.
It's another thing, to try to make a game with Kiryu meeting and remembering people from his life. On top of faking identity (when they feel like it).
And then you add cancer to it.
Did writers think I will feel good remembering 'good times'? Melancholic? It's gonna be bittersweet? At this point, Im just getting annoyed. So many games Kiryu's life was getting shit on, so many games without proper send off. Now theoretically he is getting some, but cant meet his friends and most important people. Instead he hangs out with people he beat up once.
Not gonna lie, Im interested in Majima's game, because Gaiden caught me by surprise how much I enjoyed it after fucking 7.

I played every RGG game (on pc) this year and thoroughly enjoyed every single game. infact, I'm dying for Stranger than Heaven to get here because I need more RGG kino in my life. I'm already thinking about replaying some Yakuza games and I've only been done with the series for a couple months
