Basically because she was depressed, Video Games and living in her dreams let her hold on and keep living for One More Day, but eventually you run out of things to dream about and at that point she no longer has any reason to not take the leap.
See it like those fags who go "I PUT OFF KILLING MYSELF SO I'D PLAY THIS GAME!" people. The depresed people holding out for just one ore day of hope, until that goal arrives and nothing had changed.
There was no catharsis, collecting all the shit in her dream did not give her anything other then the courage to jump because there was nothing left that made it worth putting off.
It is a very mid-2000s game and of course you could probably seen something else, that was just my own mid-wit take.
