I actually like WoW's 6 primal forces system and how the reason it's a "world of warcraft" is that Life, death, light, voice, order, and chaos are all bad in excess and can't be allowed to have a foothold over the others. The fact that each one can corrupt and that WoW had a history of "big bad gets corrupted" for a while is also kinda funny in a poetic-but-sad kinda way. Is it handled well? Not at all, but I think the idea is neat.

He was never able to control the Lich King fully because the Nathrezim couldn't infiltrate it, hence the Scourge fighting Legion. It all equaled death in the end so I'm guessing he didn't care.
He's still the single worst retcon in anything I've ever seen, ever. A truly awful creation that manages to retroactively ruin everything in the entire franchise.

It did like one great story and that was Prince Arthas in WC3-Frozen Throne. They couldn't even handle his Lich King conclusion properly, it ended in the expansion.

When you take designs and aesthetics that were unique to Ethereals and just slap a slightly different filter on them to make Brokers, you're not expanding the lore - you're diluting it. Shadowlands didn’t fail because people couldn’t accept new ideas. It failed because those ideas were shallow, derivative, and lazily tied into the existing universe. People wanted answers and progression, not some half-baked cosmic MS Paint tier faction war between bald dudes and Time Etsy merchants.
