Heaven & Hell and Mob Rules saved Sabbath from utter commercial ruin after Technical Ecstasy, Never Say Die, and Ozzy's firing. More and more in the modern age people are re-discovering post-Ozzy Sabbath, especially with the recent Tony Martin box set, but even before all that people loved Dio-era Sabbath despite Sharon and Ozzy's best attempts to obliterate the band in his absence. The Dio era may not have the same legacy as the first six Sabbath records, but the fact that it is still so venerated is testament to how popular and beloved Dio himself was. No one else could have replaced Ozzy and come out virtually unscathed on the other side.
