>>716266514 (OP)I was 10 when it came out. I'd never played Zelda before, despite owning a NES, SNES and GB. I saw an ad on TV, and couldn't believe how amazing it looked. I rented it, but got filtered in Kokiri Forest, because I was a retard that didn't understand the puzzle-solving aspect (I mostly played platform and fighting games). I couldn't find the hole to crawl through in order to get the sword.
I rented it again, and managed to make it all the way to the road to the castle, but couldn't figure out how to get in (I didn't see the climbable vines). I was determined to beat it though, and play as the adult Link I saw in magazines. I bought a copy of the game from Toyworld with my own AU$30, and I used a guide to help me beat it.
It's still my favourite game ever, and I still have my golden cartridge. I also got Majora's Mask for Xmas 2000 - now THAT shit filtered me, and I didn't beat it until I sat down with it again in my 20's.
