It's good in different ways. The graphics are better than the sequel because it's not an open world, and Cloud's heavy slashes are different from the sequel. I like the poses of the first part more.

Overall, if you are open-minded and don't care. The story has been adjusted too much. It was great.

Rebirth is better in my opinion. It's a modern type of open world, but it still feels closer to original FF7 because it's a big area you can ride Chocobos and have battles in and change around party members at any time. I don't know. Obviously Midgar is extremely iconic for FF7 but I always felt the game really started as soon as you left. Rebirth covers my favorite part from the original, post-Midgar disc 1.
Regardless, of course you should play Remake first especially if NS2 is all you got to play it on. Rebirth is gonna be tough to run on it though if they port it, it runs a lot worse. Only so much DLSS can do and the character hair and Chocobo feathers look really fucked up at lower DLSS settings.

No thank you. I thought it was bad in remake but you can't walk 5 steps without seeing distracting npcs everywhere. Its like they over corrected after the targeted XVI articles.

They should try putting them together. I don't want to bother having to play through 3 seperate games where nothing matters in between and I don't end up caring about my gear, items etc.

Nibelheim flashback is such a perfect opening to the game that it still bothers me that they had to open with that useless, made up Zack segment. If you wanna be a nerd then Nibelheim flashback is technically a Zack segment but you know what I mean.

It's 2/3 release but part 1 is about as long as the original game and part 2 is even longer than the original game.
Not that splitting up isn't a valid critique still since there's so much god damn filler.
