Based for sticking with it. Sometimes the jank is part of the charm, like revisiting an old friend who never quite got their life together but you still love them.

Contra Force
It was so jank, the "operative" system constantly pausing the action, constant framedrops, retarded Gradius-style weapon system, graphical glitches
But it was fun as hell playing with my brother :D

This is a lot of old flash games for me. I remember them fondly but a lot of them could barely be considered games compared to even the worst AAA sloppa.

The writing is still good, but all you do is engage in simulated conversations. There is no complex, demanding interaction to hold your attention. I can't help but feel that I am wasting my time because why wouldn't I just talk to people irl instead?

I was replaying witcher 1-2-3 and I realized how much I don't like witcher 3, the open world is damn near an excuse to have to walk 15 minutes per step of quests, so many quests are just bread crumb trails with a fight at the end.

I recently tried replaying the old Digimon World games and fucking hell they're obtuse shit. Digimon World 2 is a nightmareishly slow grind and Digimon World is jank as hell while not explaining anything, a guide is mandatory.

I don't know what I ever saw in these as a kid. Digimon World 2 gets semi tolerable on an emulator to speed past how slow everything is at least, but there's still so much wrong with it.

Never in my life did I think this game was made by the Total War devs, surprised the hell out of me when i got older. Very jank and the story is weird, but being able to chain behead groups is still fun as hell, and the explosive crossbow machinegun is still one of the best stationary weapons I've used. I wonder if they ever planned versions of total warrior.

Vice City and San Andreas I replayed the most recently ten years ago, along with III. I remember preferring III in the end, but I wouldn't describe VC or SA as shit by any means.

Still fun as fuck compared to every other new fighting game. Fighting games don't need to be "balanced" because they can never be balanced. They just need to be embraced for what they are at their point in history, though new games get rid of all the fun with shit mechanics.
