sucks about the door, but the firing animation looks far better in the demake. that door appears....what, 3 times? if you even know of it? its used in two set peices with the chainsaw guys. the shooting animation gets used everywhere. it makes sense to choose the firing animation over the door.

no, theres two "intended" ways to play this segment. the first time you play it, it tries to guide you into that room, where behind and upstairs is the shotgun. your supposed to learn and use the sliding mechanics to push the cabinet in front of the doors, delaying their entry, taking shots at them through the holes in the door, until a timer ( the church bell ), rings.

the second time you do it youll realize you have more then enough firepower to fight them all off, its not a challenge, and you dont even need to shotgun, you can kill them all BEFORE the bell runs, and then go to the bell and ring it, to bring more. surviving leaves surviving enemies behind. the other option is "curb stomping".

no, your right. in the original, it automatically starts a 26 second cutscene, showing you automatically pushing the cabinet instead of letting you do it, showing your getting surrounded, including visually showing something you couldnt see, the ladder smashing the windows above you, and then leon almost looks directly at the camera and says "son of a bitch". its a lot more subtle then a bit of text at the top of the screen.
