Wuchang: Fallen Feathers on PC with a heavily OC RTX 3080 at 4K, using a mix of high settings to maintain 60 FPS. The game is extremely demanding but looks absolutely stunning. It even features some seriously over-the-top jiggle physics. Money well spent. Here are my shots.

Settings on Ultra and 4k and it's running fine, I dunno what these reviews are experiencing or if it's just hyper autistic picky faggots and then a bunch of bandwagoners. Either way I really like the game so far. MC is hot, lots of outfits, good gore, great atmosphere, awesome environments and scenery, I think the combat is fun and has good depth. The performance hasn't even came up as an issue for me on a 4070. Whats bothering me about the game is that it has all these long cool combos and cool spells but every enemy even the tiny little goblin looking guys have hyperarmor and you can't do more than 1 or 2 hits or you're gonna eat shit. Every skill and spell has a long as fuck animation lock too, boss attack hitboxes are a bit off I feel and if they knock you down unless it's a skill I havent unlocked yet it's impossible to get up before they do their post grab attack to kill you, like just make the grab a oneshot and stop wasting my time! Also only giving you tons of consumables but then only giving you 4 item slots and then making two of them basically mandatory fills with tempering and healing. The girl is hot and the game looks great but I really feel it could have cooked a bit more.

If you get at balanced, which is over fucking full hd native, 80 fps at 1440p you will get over 60 fps with 4k. Using Dlss 4 upscaling from over full HD means perfect image quality. In this game and AI Limit FSR is used to supersample the game, it doesnt reduce the resolution first but do the opposite
So if you want to use FSR like in any other game, you have to turn down the game's internal resolution but it makes the text blurry

Only have enough time to play up until just after the first boss today, but so far it's great. Every weapon feels unique, and even just with this little progress you can see a ton of different possible playstyles. Spells are implemented in a very fun way that lets you actually use them without heavy investment or dwindling resources.

My two biggest criticisms would be that while all the animations have weight to them for both enemy and the player, it is somewhat hard to tell when to dodge for the enemy attacks because of how they sort of flow slowly as if they're in way (this seems to be intentional but compared to other action games it feels very weird). The second complaint is really just the visuals in general, stuff like how some of the models look really low quality compared to others.

I don't know much about PC specs personally and I just bought an expensive prebuilt one because of that, but I am having zero performance issues at all on Ultra for what it's worth.

I'm at the start so far but its pretty damn strong. The basic spell you get cheeses most encounters and since the game has no true mage build, you get paired with a one handed sword so you can do kung fu while slinging spells instead of being a nerd who can't fight back.
Also the double kick discipline skill is so fun to use.

This is the first game post wukong chink explosion so I'm assuming most of their shitty thrifted PCs they bought for the game are shit.

I had a few negative surprises myself like no jumping possibility at all, not even DS1 jump, then the second surprise was the audio- for example if you circle the npc-s while they are talking, most don't have 360 degrees sound panning, breaks the immersion a little. But these are quite minor negatives still.

I think the hurt feefees is happening because in the english version of the game there is apparently an item description referencing the yangzhou massacre, which is not present in chinese. The massacre also happened in Shu where the game is set it so kinda acknowledges that the manchu invaders are present in the game. You just dont see them I guess because Wuchang is just now dealing with whatever is left of the Ming and its ruins. Very dark souls I should say.

People never used it because devs had to spend extra time to create separate, unique hairworks-only hair meshes/textures and they generally looked worse than the default the game was designed to use without memeworks. Kind of like raytracing vs. baked lighting in most games that have both out the box.

I have also heard reports that DLSS framegen is broken? So if you're using that try swapping to FSR or disabling it altogether. I'm using dlss-to-fsr dll to use DLSS + FSR framegen together
