My point being, KF2 did have that tiered system of buying better "upgraded" weapons once you saved up money.
Say, the Commando.

You got your peashooter Varmint rifle that was good enough for shooting generic trash and fighting some medium zeds in the hands of a competent commando.
You save up money, you get the SA-80, which is actually full-auto and still does a decent job at trash clearing.

The AK-12 is the best of two worlds, being damn good at clearing out trash, while still being able to duke it out with a SC if need be, maybe a FP.

The Scar-H is the powerhouse of the Commando-cel, but damn pricy and it ammo doesnt come cheap either (but you're a Commando, so you should be raking in money from clearing trash anyway.) Can fuck up FPs and SC no problem, a bit overkill for trash.

Fast forward, they reduced the damage on all those weapons, just to go "well, instead of paying 1500 dosh for the Scar and having a good gun as it is, you can just buy the Scar and dump a lot of money into it to make it slightly stronger than its older version ;)"
That's my issue.
From my POV, I dont see why you'd waste time and effort on making such a change, when the old system was just fine as it is, and didn't need any tweaking.

I was most Commando and Support, it was either Ak12 and then Stg with M16-203 on later waves cause fuck you. Never had any problems for a long time, but with the change I think I was using primary the Stg and the M16-203 to sort out trash or prime big game for other classes.

For support AA12, the M4 and double barrel or, healer shotty, I kept the AA12 for a reason, my primary main I never played cause it was easy mode was berserk, with the AA12 before netcode worsened so their spazzy animations did, i could head shot scrakers and pounds from mid distances cause the berserk way made me memorize their animation and their vulnerability windows, when the upgrade system dropped I only kept the AA12 and the M4, then got bored of the limiting choices the upgrade system gave us and uninstalled also because the game required nearly 10 minutes to start and I couldn't do jackshit while starting it otherwise it was a ctd, meanwhile ArmA2 was running at full settings without crashing, that speaks wonders

Trying the medic in solo for now(his super african accent really reminds me of my time in a call center helping them), it's neat but feels like all the fun perks are locked really deep in the tree and as per usual solo medic is shafted in terms of perk choices. Game's fun for now but IDK, the game feels way too different from the KF I know. There's a lot of cool stuff but something about this game just feels like way too much of a departure from the older games rather than being a straight refinement of the systems. Played a few normals solo and it seems fine. Chaff melt easy enough especially with all the gas medic has but I'm usually kiting the big boys for way more than I'd like which I'm really expecting to be a problem in the higher difficulties. Alright tested out a level 4 medic on hard solo, got lucky with the crawler queen as my boss I think but it's as I expected, scrakes and FPs are a huge pain in the ass but at least at this level I can still tank them in the bubble while turrets rip them into execution range. Official maps are all cramped, poorly designed chokepoint filled trash they all look like trash and lack ambition.
And it only makes the combat which is way faster than KF1 since enemies will catch you in 3 seconds flat, a fucking mess.

Plenty of custom maps are not only creative but expansive as well and work much better with the faster pace of the combat.

I only have one question, I absolutely LOATHED that enemies randomly spawned/teleported close to you in KF2, pretty much forcing you to run and gun all the time.
Is that different in KF3? Can you actually do the "hold the position" strategy in this game?

That alone will make or break this game for me.
