To me it would seem that it just corresponds to a number of things that aren't worked out properly about the Switch 2, or even the original switch, like performance.
Even then how can it really still be this hard to properly put out a game in the style of their bread and butter.
In any case, I'm not convinced by that reasoning. The trailers and showcases for Prime 4 haven't been bad, but they're also quite lukewarm, if they're that worked up about it I would have expected something at least a little different than what we got in this timeframe.

In line with people wanting a bounty hunter focused game I think it'd be cool if you had it where you could earn stuff doing all sorts of missions and then use those earned resources to do things like provide aid or achieve other goals.
Like one mission has you helping to evacuate a colony because it's going to get nuked and then later you help it reestablish by providing materials and doing patrol missions in the area.
Stuff that ties together things that Samus would do like that.

It could make for a pretty neat game.

Have the Luminoths on Aether be the main group that Samus is doing these odd jobs for, but you could include smaller groups that she helps out as well. Something like the Luminoth need X (not X as in the parasite, kek. X as in a variable) resource/tech and they have a lead on where Samus might be able find it. She goes there, does Samus things, maybe finds something intact that she can use immediately (could be new abilities, a new type of material, anything), or something damaged that might have value (think of MegaMan Legends and how Roll could fix up the stuff you find), or possibly even a survivor or a transmission log that leads her to another group.

These other groups won't be focused on as much, but they'd be another group that can provide Samus with intel, new missions, or help her integrate new tech. She might even find others interested in travelling to Aether, which opens up more possibilities at the main hub.

I genuinely think Metroid can easily be turned into not only Animal Well but a kinda labyrinth shafts game like when Dallas get chased by the xenomorph. I think it would be really easy to do even with the ROM limitations if you decide to mess with Assembly, the problem would be getting the new gameplay done correctly and getting the new graphics & hitboxes for the Aliens to work correctly and various other mechanics like closing doors from afar.

Federation Force isn't wrong. In fact showing other factions' PoV is a blessing for worldbuilding and can be quite fun like Prime Hunters' other hunters. But you can't *just* do that. Everyone wanted a new Metroid and Samus. They were starved and then Federation Force is more of a spit to the face.
If they had something like announced ''Metroid Dread'' and bonus Federation Force. They would see a ton of people playing it if only to seek any hints they could get of a future entry for example.

I'm always weirded out at how poorly handled those old games are. It isn't hard to make proper advertisement and earn the fans' cheering.

The real reason for the ridley ptst is that ninja was trying to recreate a moment from the manga...which took place when samus was a teenager who was meeting ridley for the first time since he killed her parents, so it was much more understandable the as opposed to in other m where she's a hardened bounty hunter who's engaged the motherfucker literally 5 times without issue. So he inserted a plotline about samus feeling weak and helpless because the bad guys she kills don't stay dead, which is a freakout that should have happened somewhere around prime 1 or 2 if it was ever going to. I do think that the Federation itself would be mostly stewarded by humans, but maybe it's quite special in that it regularly takes other species under its wing.
At the very least the Kriken and the Vhozon empires (of which Noxus is one) are described as highly monolithic, many others like the Chozo themselves swing this way too.
So any given Fed planet or station could potentially belong to a specific non-human species or be a hub planet accommodating to all sorts of member species, contrary to the average space-based society.
