Aliens Vs Predator 1 , 2, 2010 are asynchronous shooters where you get to play as
1) wall-climbing speedy aliens that can see in the dark
2) humans that play like glass cannons
3) cloaking predators with slow but deadly ballistic weapons who can also see in the dark.

Natural Selection is a kinda MOBA first person shooter game with humans vs aliens where each team gets 1 commander that plays the game like a RTS but without the worker gathering.

C&C RENEGADE X is a first person & third person shooter game with numerous ground & flying vehicles with 2 opposing human factions that perfectly simulate a RTS game complete with resource gatherers.

You guys got more unique games?

I always recommend Urban Assault in threads like this.
It's an RTS/shooter hybrid where you can jump into any individual unit at any time, including tanks, helicopters airplanes and defense turrets. Plus you can teleport your main base around as a kind of super unit. The RTS elements are pretty light with energy as the only resource so you'll probably spend most of your time in combat.

Virus: The Game is a strategy/action video game set in the user's hard drive, with files and directories being represented by 3D rooms through which the player navigates.

The objective is to battle against 'viruses' that invade the user's directory structure and files. The game and its advertisement included warnings reminding the player that "it's just a game," and that the game is not actually causing harm to the computer's files. The user's graphic files are used as the wall texture and sound files are used as the background music.

Operation: Inner Space is an action game developed in 1992 and published in 1994 by Software Dynamics for Windows. The player's mission is to enter the computer (represented by "Inner Space") in a spaceship and recover the icons and resources that have been set loose by an invasion, and ultimately to destroy the "Inner Demon". The player interacts with other spacecraft along the way, and can compete in races for icons.

The Most Scientifically Accurate Space Warfare Simulator Ever Made.

Children of a Dead Earth is a simulation of true-to-life space warfare. Design your spacecrafts using real world technologies. Traverse the solar system using actual orbit mechanics. Command fleets as the solar system descends into war, and see if you have what it takes to become the victor.

>The objective of the game is to track down and disintegrate five clones of Captain Blood (referred to as Duplicates or Numbers depending on the version of the game). To find them, the player must speak to various aliens and gain their trust. Communication with aliens occurs via an icon-based interface known as UPCOM. This consists of around 150 icons, each representing a different concept. As each alien race discovered speaks its own language and reacts differently, the player must learn to negotiate using these UPCOM concepts in a style that suits each race.

>Other unique facets of the gameplay included changes in the player interface as the game progressed; as time wore on, the character's health deteriorated. This was represented in-game via an increasing amount of shaking of the mouse cursor, making the game more and more difficult to control. Disintegrating a clone would temporarily relieve the symptoms.

>The player starts the game at the bridge of a biological ship, the Ark. The ship begins in the vicinity of one of four predetermined planets, each inhabited by a single alien. To make contact with an alien, the player launches an OORXXโ€”a biological probeโ€”to the planet's surface. The player must successfully navigate the probe over a fractal landscape, eventually reaching the alien at the end of a valley. The UPCOM interface then appears so that the player may talk to the alien and find out more informationโ€”most importantly, the coordinates of other inhabited planets.

>The Ark also has the capability to hyperspace to other planets, scan planets for defences, destroy planets and teleport aliens to an area known as the Fridgitorium, for disintegration or transportation to another planet

I'm genuinely surprised that there hasn't been some remake/spiritual successor for this in all those years.

Sid Meier's Covert Action is an action and strategy video game released in 1990 by MicroProse for IBM PC compatibles and Amiga. The player takes the role of Max Remington (whether the male Maximillian or the female Maxine), a skilled and deadly free agent hired by Central Intelligence Agency, and investigates criminal and terrorist plots and activities.

The gameplay is similar to the 1987 release Pirates!, by the same developer, Sid Meier, in that the gameplay is made up of several self-directed, distinct, and unique modes of play. During the course of a game, the player will be tasked with installing wiretaps, infiltrating enemy safehouses, intercepting and decoding secret messages and interrogating prisoners. The plots are randomly generated each game, which enhances replayability.

The game is broken down into missions, with players possibly receiving promotions after each successful mission. The primary goal of each mission is to uncover details about a criminal conspiracy. Players race against the clock to discover who is involved and their roles before it's too late. When a campaign is started, there are 26 "masterminds" who initiate plots; capturing all 26 of them ends the game successfully.

Many of the pieces of data which the player needs are gathered through various mini-games. Successfully completing a mini-game often reveals one or more pieces of data, including the names and photos of those involved, as well as locations connected to the plot. The player is allowed to decide which skills his agent has mastered ahead of time, making the associated mini-games easier.
