Bazzite is just a meme. Fedora is not the distro targeted by people trying to get games to work and it's basically just Fedora wrapped in a layer of childproofing so that it can hit the mouthbreathing handheld audience that keeps clamoring for SteamOS. The only people recommending it are paid Red Hat shills.
If you want a Linux distro that just werks, then use Arch with archinstall and read along with the installation guide. Then if you want to use install a new program, you generally have a well explained wiki article to follow along with.
I wouldn't even recommend Arch-based distros, because their pre-riced, or "easy to install" nature just means that they come with dozens of undocumented problems and breakages that have no well-documented fix if you fall outside of their very narrow focus.
The only relevant Linux distros are Arch/Debian and their systemd-less counterparts Artix/Devuan.

It took me like two times to understand linux, I've been linux for about 2 years now.

Red Hat is definitely an enemy, but I can also understand the Fedora maintainers' point of view that that shitty infrastructure is a ton of work for little gain and 32 bit is going to be 100% dead in 2032. RHEL which is downstream already dropped 32-bit, and I wouldn't be surprised if Ubuntu LTS did it soon too (since their support will go over the 2032 date).
The issue is Valve needs to get their heads out their ass and fucking update Steam to run on 64-bit. If they can do it for MacOS they can do it for Windows/Linux.

I use Linux with the idea of doing work so it's on my laptop and of course on my Pi's and such.
I use windows with the idea of play so it's on my desktop and I only really play video games on that.
Some games I have played on my Linux laptops such as terraria, zomboid, other indie games through steam have worked out pretty much flawlessly. I use Manjaro.
When windows 10 finally goes down I'll have to consider using Linux for play too but I'm considering building a whole new desktop at that point.

I know for a fact that if I were to go to a full switch I'm likely going to lose the ability to play some games...likely in the AAA space and multiplayer games are probably going to be a complete no-go thanks to anti-cheat software.

Or maybe I'll just get a console again for the AAA games and just do indie games on PC.

In all honesty I'm likely going to make the desktop basically ONLY a gaming machine on whatever Windows OS is around when 10 becomes absolutely unviable and just do anything and everything else from my Linux laptop.

Actually might be for the best... basically a very expensive console but realistically windows is an OS for toys at this point. It's so chok full of spyware from the OS itself doing anything other than games on it is just asking for trouble.

I consider any games that can play on Linux as easily as pressing play in steam as kind of a nice to have bonus.

Some "native" Linux games are just WINE ports. As in, they're just windows versions which pre-bundle an ancient version of WINE and claim it's a native Linux game.
Some Linux game builds are simply abandoned. One of the Borderlands games is stuck one major version behind (as in, it's years out of date). You're forced to use WINE/Proton to run the Windows version if you want multiplayer to work.
Many older Linux games are using older OpenGL. WINE/Proton translate directX to Vulkan which makes the game actually perform much better than native OpenGL.

Not really. The packages/dependencies it has are too outdated. It's effectively always 6-24 months behind Fedora distros like Bazzite and Nobara. Linux is getting way too many improvements and updates lately for an LTS distribution to be viable on desktops. Especially for gaming.
Go for Bazzite or Nobara (both highly recommended), or if you'd prefer an Arch-based distro go for Garuda or EndeavourOS.
