Either way, I played the beta earlier this year and if I were in a position to make calls at tripwire I'd direct all resources to improving stability, performance and fixing bugs. Everything else could wait.

I loved KF2. I would have been happy if they made KF2 but with better graphics. Something about KF3 just feels kinda off. Scrakes and Fleshpounds don’t feel as dangerous. Same with Sirens that can fuck you over if you’re not paying attention. Having limited self heal kinda sucks. Getting rid of some of the perks like gunslinger and swat kinda sucks. I loved KF2 so much that I was really hyped for this game. But the hype kinda died during the stress test. Maybe in two or three years they can turn the game into something good.

By the way, for anyone who hasn't played it yet, let me tell you how you start searching for a game, and in this exact order.

- Start game in main menu
- It spawns you in the back of the hub
- You have to run all the way to the computer in the middle to load up a menu where you select your mission stuff like Hell Divers 2
- Oh but wait you forgot to edit your perks and characters which is at the back where you spawned
- You have to run back and forth
- Select mission from main computer and hit find match
- It will now start a sequence where you have to run to a helipad and board a chopper
- A countdown starts in the chopper and once you reach the end it then cuts you to a finding match loading screen

had some time in between work today to play a few sessions. i played nearly every play test for multiple hours as well. wish the progress carried over because normals are just a tad bit boring. Hard can be difficult when you don't have at least 2 good teammates, but i main medic to fix that issue. when i can actually start a weekly mutation session and not join into one, i end up dying because our lobby doesn't get filled, i run out of ammo and can't get to the resupply, or my teammates go down too fast. it's not really feasible until i get some major tier-1 weapon upgrades and probably some skill tree upgrades, which is fine bc i have the rest of the week. overall, really fun. can see myself putting more time into this one than KF2, maybe not more than KF1, but only because that was my first game and i had a lot more time on my hands when i was in high school. two main gripes are definitely monetization (the battle pass has some really boring skins and even the skins for purchase in the shop right now are not good) and lack of solo viability at lower levels. correct me if i'm wrong, but the difficulty doesn't seem to give a shit how many players you have, and that's near impossible as a solo. also i love the lumen lighting but it causes major frame drops and stutters that actually make the game unplayable in very specific areas of certain maps. overall 8/10

I have 1000 hours in KF1 and KF2 each. After a few hours, it’s obvious: KF3 is a proper KF game. However, it’s in a fairly unpolished and unoptimized state. So expect a lot of balancing improvements, performance improvements, tweaks to systems etc over the coming months and years. Just as with KF1 and KF2, we should expect it to peak 2-5 years after launch.

I don’t think waiting a bit for some patches would hurt you. Personally, I love these games enough that I want to be there from day one to experience every bit of improvement. And anyway, the game is definitely in a playable state now.

All this retarded barking about “hero shooter” “lost the feel” etc is nonsense to anyone with a functioning brain. It’s a much more modern take on KF for sure, but that is only as bad insofar as you hate modern games in general. KF2 was in Early Access for 5 months before they added Demo and Firebug and 6 months before Gunslinger. i remember, i was there. you can verify on the wiki.

First killing floor game with a 'mixed' rating on Steam. That's not good. Even if you disliked some of the directions of 2 it was still well received.

I'm not beta testing to find out whether it's good or bad, my gut instinct tells me something is off and it's likely bad. Funny how 2 is still almost equally priced with it, because that will remain that relevant game until Tripwire go back to the drawing board and just throw it out all together.
