I generally use buyee because even with their fees and shipping it's still cheaper than some place like TCGRepublic. The only issue is finding the right store because there isn't any Japanese cardshop similar to TCGplayer where you can buy everything. It's really inefficient so I end up having to pick and choose what I want.

It's fun hunting stuff down though. Some things are totally worth it like uncensored Rising Scale $4 total free shipping from TCGRepublic.

Being skilled at the game will absolutely earn you victories bumping your rate and increasing your speed but it's mostly about playing a deck that produces as many non-games as possible so you climb faster. I've gotten to M1 quite a few times but without a doubt the fastest ones have been with exodia because you can produce non-games in less than a minute and the amount of games you can spam is four or five times as many as you do with other decks. You either lose fast or win fast but spin the roulette enough times and you'll make it. And yes, on the games where you actualy have to play the game, being good will earn you extra wins.

There hasn't been any new HERO Links since MR4. The deck received the token Links to make it playable under those conditions and all the legacy support since has been in the form of Fusions.
Halq was printed within the 1st year of Links and it caused Konami to make every subsequent Synchro support Link bad. Junk Connector came out in the same set as Junk Speeder, for reference, in case you didn't want to Synchro lock yourself.
5D's, ZeXal never received Link monsters. ARC-V did with Beyond and Exceed only because it's still under MR4 rules.

In order for Izuna to be activated you needed to have activated something in your hand or graveyard, in the vast majority of cases this is some sort of handtrap. So you have likely expended a card, binnned a card for super poly, and activated super poly, leaving you at 2 cards in hand, effectively down 3 cards.
The opponent still has 4 cards in hand.
They could have nib, ash, veiler, or in the worst case scenario, they summon Hollie sue.
This is far from an ideal scenario

I was able to make Master 1 for 5 months in a row during that meta, running Thunder Dragon. Yubel was also breakabe if you actually opened breakers. SEFK was strong but beatable too. It wasn't a terrible meta at all and you could play weaker decks and still win.
Now? Impulse and Chummies are in the game, Fiendsmith is 1 card Apollosa and Maliss is only stoppable with silver bullets or running the mirror. It hasn't been as bad as it is now since Tears.
