The roster is huge and it looks great
I’m bummed about the single player because older entries (especially 1/2) have incredible single player story and bonus modes, and 1-4 as a whole have the best presentation of anime fights with in-battle cutscenes and missions of arguably any adaptation to date. They’re so good I would wholeheartedly recommend people playing 1-4 instead of watching their anime.
Generations still has those moments, but the rest of the story is presented in a slideshow type deal, so that kind of sucks

Theoretically it's just UNS4 trying to cover the events of all 4 main games plus some extra stuff and Boruto content. But it fucked up the story mode immensely by mostly making it non-budgeted slideshows that don't even have every battle or boss across the main series, selectable jutsus and chakra shuriken are gone in favor of a predefined two-jutsu system for everybody, nerfed defense game and buffed offense (set substitution recharges and faster guard breaks, vs. natural chakra regen at all times encouraging rushdowns), roster bloat by separating characters up into separate slots instead of as costumes despite some of them being functionally identical, and all sorts of other shit. It's a cash grab, plain and simple.
