Now is the perfect time for them to announce ZOE3. Mecha Break may be flopping atm but that is because its another shitty microtransaction ridden game. At least with ZOE3 it would be a cool single player mech game. Mech genre is enjoying its biggest popularity in perhaps ever at this point so might as well capitalize on it now.

I mean the mech design had nothing to do with left alive being shit. That they would only let you use them for a 2 minute gated corridor fight at a time before kicking you back out to play bad stealth is the problem.

90% of left alive would be improved if there was an optional mech you could jack on every map, and you could choose between loud or quiet. And everyone would pick loud and the world would be a better place.

also daily reminder that the "Guy Savage" minigame in MGS3 was apparently a playable teaser/prototype of Zone Of The Enders 3 because it was literally titled "ZOE3 teaser" in-game files. looks like it would've taken place in the 21st century and you would play as some sort of ex cop prisoner with supernatural powers and fighting mutated cops before even getting your own mecha robot. I don't know if a mecha game with a combat system and gameplay sections outside of the mech would be a good addition, but it sure sounds and looks interesting on paper

Kojima had nothing to do with ZoE. Didn't write a single line, didn't design a single mechanic, didn't direct a single cutscene. All of those were done by Okamura. Okamura was working on ZoE since 1997 for the Dreamcast. At that time Kojima was still writing plot for MGS.

That doesn't change that Kojima was going to direct ZoE3 and it was cancelled upon his departure from the company, but the cancellation could have had more to do with Konami moving away from gaming projects in general at the time

ZOE2 itself was pretty different from the first game but in the case of ZOE3 it feels like they wanted to go overboard. Really makes you wonder what could've been
