In Mexico, unfortunately more expensive. Almost all electronics are sold above MSRP because they have to account for tariffs and importing costs, and sometimes certain products are only available in US, which adds extra shipping costs that can go up to $2000 pesos. That was a lesson I learned as I bought components for my first PC, as I was looking for PC cases in ebay or Newegg, and Lian Li and Montech cases' prices would increase up to $2000 pesos just for shipping.

There are also very few dedicated PC building stores with decent prices, most of the time it's better to just buy from Amazon, but there are online stores like Cyberpuerta which have pretty good prices, with the only downside that they charge for shipping per product.

Anyway, it costed me almost $40,000 pesos to build my PC, 1440p monitor included.

No, I got a Christmas deal from one of the big online prebuilt companies. Then when they couldn't build and send the unit on time, which I already knew they couldn't. It's normal here in Brazil I guess, it's just expensive to get a top-of-the-line gaming PC, let alone a modern console. I've only ever seen like 2 people with a Switch for example (not a switch 2, that'd be way too expensive). Most people play whatever is most popular at the moment in the US.

Many had SNES', N64's, PS1's and PS2's back in the day, when piracy was more rampant and online games weren't common. The Mega Drive was quite rare, the Gameboy was sort of uncommon, and the other portable consoles even more so, but not to the point where they were unheard of.

This is all just based on my personal experience here in my region, though. Maybe things were a bit different in other regions.

Chileno here. An rtx 5090 cost around 3300 to 3700 dollars depending on gpu manufacturer. A 5060 TI 16gb goes for $650 which is your budget card because the 4000 series barelly has any stock

Nigger I spent literal months researching components, asking both here and /g/ and comparing prices on different storefronts, and only bought when components were on sale and either comparable to or lower that USD MSRP prices. This is what this whole experience taught me, that PC building in Mexico is fucked up because of how inflated prices are and how little variety there is when it comes to available components. The only component I admit I overspent was my 4070 Super, it costed me $15k pesos to buy "on sale" because it was about to sell out, only to see it being restocked and like $2k cheaper a few days later.

To add, those $40k are with taxes included, so it kind of balances it out.

Damn as a haitian american, I kinda wish we could have gotten colonized by spain or portugal. I could have grown up speaking a useful language, not be the poorest country in the western hemisphere, etc. Its kind of wierd being a mulatto from the most "black power" country in the world

Since the start of this year, My government requires everyone to use RFC/CURP for customs when ordering internationally, yet most of my packages still get lost even when providing such information. And seeing the UK "child safety" act as a way to spread more censorship concerns me the most since this country might just follow the trend of becoming a diet coke version of China. Just with more mediocrity and poorness.

I spent the last 8 years playing on a gtx 1050ti, upgraded to an rtx 4060 a bit over half a year ago
