Why did old TVs and computer monitors have built-in CRT filters and new ones don't?

Back then you paid more for more, or less for less. Now you pay more for less. There is no less for more. Simple as.

Older TVs had better hardware because they were bigger and had more room for ventilation. Same principle as a gamer PC. Now that they slimmed them down they had to dumb down the hardware and they can't run such advanced filters.

Back when everyone was using CRT TVs it was important to have a good CRT filter but now it's not necessary.
