The puzzle of why Matt hasn’t made Mushido yet!
>>716369981He's a hack retard who is capable of imagining principles and rules of design but cant abide by them himself.
>>716369981He will get there one day.

I am not very logical, so it is taking a long time

It'll be 5 bucks, please.
>>716369758ah yes
this is when that one turns into territory control
>>716372012Solved it. Thank you. Sometimes, I just don't realize I need to switch my analysis mindset.
>>716369669 (OP)I've reach the 7th row and am running into a lot more fuck-you puzzles, though some are still surprisingly quick to solve. I also jumped to the penultimate puzzle and that was enjoyable, even if it took me an hour to finish.
>>716369669 (OP)Preferred it on SNES desu.
(not even kidding, it's a cool topdown shooter)
>>716370774Nah he's done with the idea.

I'm stuck on lvl 32.
Shit simply doesn't work, I think I'm not separating the "zones" or whatever. Fuck those blue things, I don't even know what they're
>>716373606It’s a cool idea and Mitosis is amazing for being able to draw that.
>>716374857You should go back and review the rules in the first row.
I don't believe there aren't puzzles that rely on Bifurcation

>>716383549They kinda are, claw grip and freeaim is required to attempt multi enemy fights comfortably so most players correctly deviated to 1v1s. note that funneling two enemies into a corridor counts too, one will usually get blocked.
Like come on, you want to tell me that you went into the church on your first time and banged your head against the wall fighting the three balder knights until luck had you win?

>>716386214Yes. Also he will never apologize for his Dark Souls 2 vid because he's a weak faggot.
>>716386021Well I'm not Matthew

>>716386374Okay. I still hope you get hit by a bus so...
>>716386389It's not guessing though. I'm eliminating one of those options through logic.
>>716386459You too faggot
>>716386271Refusing to apologize for one's justified opinions would be the strong thing to do.
>>716386389As much as I like the game, it just isn't true on some of the later levels
>>716386214>>716386473>>716387869You don't have to do that, you are just missing something. I'm on row 9 and have used only logic so far, no guesswork or randomly picking one of two options.
>>716369669 (OP)I'll never ask for help.
>>716388005>if I place a wall here it will make the puzzle impossibleIt's pure logic.
>>716388204Yeah, but what if one of your guesses leads all the way to a solution? That's not using logic.
I found Matthew's partial dox and a webcomic he made before the channel but I don't have the heart to post it. I'm sure he doesn't care but I won't do it to the boy.
>>716369981>Ghosts n' Goblins-style game (Goblike) with no HUD where a gun-wielding samurai beetle infiltrates an evil Japanese pagoda (inspired by Simon Belment and Dracula's castle) with a hierarchy of bug creatures inspired by Oddworld.Probably too ambitious for his first game but holy fuck I hope he can pull it off within the next decade. Mushido could be awesome and Matt's gf clearly has talent to do the art side. What worries me is Matt constantly talks about wanting to do the music himself, despite having ZERO musical training or skill and no ability to play instruments.
>>716388967That's the issue I'm having with some of the puzzles on row 9/10 (not most of them though). A lot of them are built on having multiple possibilities. Ideally I like to eliminate the ones that are the least likely but that process can take like ten steps.
In the worst cases I'll try to pick a path that makes me progress very fast and that can lead to a solution but it's still based on an educated guess in the end.
Im getting better but my brain fucking hurts. halp
>>716389572>matts gf clearly has talentare you basing that off the awful looking pc UI or what?
>>716389928zoning rules. The bombs on the corners must be connected to the rest
>>716390068god damn it how did I miss that. I just need some rest, been going hard for like 4 hours straight. thanks anon.
>>716388967Tertium non datur. Because there is only one solution it still eliminates one of the options. If you want to be anal about it you can reset the puzzle, get back to partial solution and then start solving it again knowing that one option is impossible.
>>716390182>Because there is only one solution it still eliminates one of the options.Watch matt's introduction video again. In it he says that if you use logic to solve a puzzle, you simultaneously prove that a puzzle has a unique solution. You are proposing the opposite: using the assumed uniqueness of a solution to assert that no matter how you arrived there, it therefore must have happened using logic. You might as well claim that trying every single combination of wall or no wall for every single cell is 'logic' as long as you arrive at the solution at some point.
took me 10 hours to clear the first 3 rows. Im a brainlet but damn I love this game. was already a fan of picross and minesweeper but this feels 10x more satisfying than those.

I'm too low IQ for this. Fuck you.
I made it to the big puzzles and I kinda don't like them because it takes so long filling in all the X's
>>716391916This one is easy
Start with the row with two blues and visualize what happens for each spot if you put the 1 wall there.
>>716392246The fact that the puzzles don't auto validate once all the walls are placed seems like a weird oversight. Especially since that's how picross games usually work.
>>716390717>Watch matt's introduction video againNot part of the game.
>In it he says that if you use logic to solve a puzzle, you simultaneously prove that a puzzle has a unique solution. If no guesswork is required then there can only be a single solution.
Would you complain if I started solving each option simultaneously and when one leads to a dead end stop that one and continue with the other? I would never reach the solution but still come to the same conclusion just using logic.
>>716392753>Not part of the game.Ignore it if you want but I think you at least have to concede you are using a different definition of logic than matt and the game are.
>Would you complain if I started solving each option simultaneouslyThat sounds similar to how a computer would solve puzzles. It's brute forcing and I would hardly call it logic - at the very least not the same kind of logic a human uses to solve puzzles.
Shill this game to me. What's the puzzles like? is this sudoku puzzles or something?
>>716393859It's like Picross crossed with Minesweeper.
Quite fun frankly and I don't even play this kind of game. I just trusted based on Matt's history of great takes.
>>716393859It's sort of like a sudoku puzzle, in the sense that you have to uses specific rules to decide how the squares in the grid need to be filled in. Each puzzle has only a single solution, so you have to use the rules to deduce what the correct layout for each grid is. Thing is, there are quite more rules to take into account than sudoku, and the way the rules work together allow you to develop higher level strategies that allow you to see and exploit certain patterns. The game gets quite hard rather quick, especially for people that haven't played many grid-based puzzle games like this before. The game is quite minimalist, but that's because it is much more focussed on delivering tightly designed puzzles that test your understanding of the game. These kinds of games are honestly a dime a dozen, but for how little I paid for it Im having a great time. Many hours in and Im not even halfway. Id say, buy the game and try the tutorial and a few early puzzles, refund it if it isnt your thing.
Oh, so this is an e-celeb's game.
Explains why the local underage audience spams this shit so heavily here.
Not liking Matthewmatosis outs anon as underage to be desu
>>716395320That's not very logical.
But I know what you mean. He's definitely popular with people who grew up with the games he's reviewed more than not.
>>716389302Are you talking about Non Gravity by Matthew Mellis? I never checked it out. Is it really that bad? Looked fine from the screenshots that i saw.
>>716397248Nah, never heard of that. Matt made a comic strip before YouTube and his YouTube avatar is his character from the comic strip. It's not that interesting or funny but its an endearing product of the late 00s when everyone was doing webcomics. He was definitely in university at the time.
>>716388005Do the puzzles get more interesting on later rows? I’ve just unlocked row 3 and so far the game feels very mid, because whilst the puzzles might be fun in the moment, outside of the tutorial they haven’t evolved in any interesting manner and are in most cases just the same puzzle which is solved using the same approach. I’ve already created a checklist of things to do to easily solve them.
And the question mark so far feel like they just make puzzles easier since they limit my alternatives.
I dunno, so far it feels more like a boredom killer than a proper game, like newspaper crossword puzzles and sudokus
>>716393746>you are using a different definition of logicI'm not though. Again, if no guesswork is required (as it's stated in the game) then there can only be one solution. So if one option leads to said solution it is only logical that the other option will not.
> I would hardly call it logicYour average intro to formal logic course would disagree with you there.
> It's brute forcingIt's not though. Checking a few steps into the future to see if a certain choice forces you to break some rule is how you solve these puzzles.
Why is there no rule34 of the cat/demons yet?
>>716399742If you ask Matosis’ sisterGF she might draw some for you
>>716398653I'm not talking about the mathematical definition of logic, I'm talking about logic as defined in the context of logic games such as this one. You are quite clearly not using the same definition of logic as matt which is why you refused to engage with the point he made in his video about logic necessarily leading to unique solutions.
>>716400490How many steps into the future does Matt's logic allow me to see if placing a wall would make the puzzle unsolvable?
>>716369669 (OP)What am I doing wrong here? Last one of the third row
>>716401446same as before, the bombs can't be surrounded by walls
>>716401140About as much as you can reasonably do in your head. It's not that long chains of logic are necessarily cheating or anything but the game was not designed to force you to do them.
>>716397778>Matthew recommends: Ghost Trick - Great DS game, select Demo to try it. wow, he's been recommending ghost trick since the very beginning
>>716402289>not allowed to use the game to visualize possible placementsOkay...
getting real bored of going through each step of the solution algorithm for every puzzle. it can be boiled down to a handful of things to check each time and it becomes quite routine and mindless ironically. what vampire survivors would be without getting a gamba roll every 30 seconds and without all the money noises and pizzaz.

>>716405628Yeah that's it damn I always forget the basics after playing for a while.
Why isn't there a restart button? That's not very logical.
>>716382808Dang, imagine still crying over a mild critique video from over a decade ago
Are you one of hbombergoy's troon fans?
>>716405820Do you know the answer to
>>716397980
So what's the /v/ consensus from the people who've actually been playing it? Good game?
>>716408240It's alright. For five bucks I've gotten a massively disproportionate amount of playtime out of it. But a lot of that playtime is spent mouth agape at a blank grid trying to suss out a valid first move. I've spent more time getting through less than half of this game than I have on the entirety of Kaizen.
The core gameplay is good, but as you'd probably expect, the rest of it is minimalistic to a fault. Being constrained to Gameboy controls is dumb when the game would've improved with some QoL features that can't be added because there aren't enough buttons. And I think one of the game's biggest flaws is that it doesn't have, I dunno, narrative justification (?) for all of its rules, so they don't always stick in your head early on.
>>716392575But that's guessing and /v/ told me there is no guessing in this game.
>>716394807>>716394885Wait is this game just a more indepth Dungeons and Diagrams from Last Call BBS?
>>716408742It's not a guess. Do you wanna bust out the theorems, because you can mathematically prove that there's only one valid wall placement that lets your partition the blue guys.
>>716408240So far it’s too easy, but /v/-tards are tards so it should be good for you. With that said, I’m currently working on getting really piss drunk, maybe his game Will challenge me when I’m crawling on the floor.
But it’s like drinking until the bar skank is beautiful but you’re too drunk to fuck
>>716407685It can feel a bit repetitive but there are new ideas introduced for sure. I've been stuck on some of the later levels because they require an entirely different approach.
>>716410058You know, I’m going to get drunk as fuck today, and after I fire up a fish on the grill I’m going to play with Matthew’s bombs and prove to him that he’s a dud. Now, between just you and me, and this might be just my imagination, but imagine if you complete the game and as a result you get a naked picture of his sister-GF (they have some incestous shit going on) and her number. Wouldn’t that be nice?
>>716410437In my imagination I believe that Matthew believes that I’m a pissant that drinks beer until I’m poor. Well, let me correct that. I’m drinking champagne and limoncello. If he was living next door to me I would colour my balls black, paint the number 1 on them, and go over and fuck his sister-GF. And when Matthew begs for his turn I’d simply say, sorry, breaks rule 4
>>716405820Good stuff anon. Guess you really have to do every other puzzle to unlock the last one.
>>716411994>last onelol. This is Fagtosis we are talking about. There is no last one. There is just the one like every other
Is there a logical first step in deduction that leads you on the path to solution, or is it an educated guess level?(This is where I quit, the "logic" part fails with guesses)
There is no first step blocking a bomb-cat route, necessary walls, or jailing stars.
I solved it by filling chunks where large numberd rows cross.
Fucking fagtosis fucked up my fucking fish!!!
>>716412428You can fit 6 walls in a row so that the bombs still hit the cat.
>>716412568The bombs could still be anywhere on the cat horizontal 6 rows with all walls removed. Where is the first deduced step? where is the second step? can you mark them?
>>716412897Nvm, I see it.
>>716412897If you placed 4 Xs horizontally between the cat and bomb, there's not enough room on the rest of the row for the 6 walls.
>>716390029He’s basing it off the art for Mushido here
>>716369981
>>716412897Try fitting 6 walls, 1 bomb, 1 cat and 4 empty spaces between cat and bomb (12 cells total) in a single row with 10 cells. Protip: You can't, because 12 is bigger than 10.
>>716412428Pretty straightforward. If you try to connect the bombs horizontally there is not enough space for the 6 walls on those rows. Therefore the bombs must be connected vertically. This technique will be very useful in the following stages.
>>716412428Hey man, I’m drunk as fuck now so I’ll help ya. Look at row 7, yeah? Says 6 yeah? So how the fuck are you gonna fit six walls to the left and right? You can’t. So therefore you know that the bombs attack vertically.
Now, thank me and tell fagtosis to suck a lemon through a straw
>>716409147I'm not sure it's more complex but it's very similar
After this game and its easy as loose shit after taco Thursday at an Indian restaurant levels I sincerely hope that fagtosis drones realize that he’s a hack
>>716409147It started out as a port of Dungeons and Diagrams to the Gameboy. So I think it's almost the same thing with different rules.
Yeah
Why did my wife decide it's okay to leave me after 9 years and act as if she just swapped a pair of gloves for another, not a man?
>>716414689Who are you? If she became a lesbian then I’m sorry, but her nose ring should have been a sign
>>716377327His Dark Souls 2 review still makes me angry to this day
>>716415668/v/ was saying the same shit for months.
>>716415668His DS2 review is fine. Not good, not great, not bad. No point crying over it.
Fagtosis is retarded however
>>716415668I disliked it tons though and not just because a random youtuber says so, saw his video years later and it basically just said what I already thought in my head.
The one thing I can definitely give it now is that it is miles more enjoyable to play than Elden Ring (I replayed it fairly recently), but since everyone loves that one then I have had to come to the conclusion that Dark Souls 2 is probably a good fantasy action RPG, it just isn't the same thing as Dark Souls or Demon's Souls, but neither is any game that came after it.
Like it may simply be a case of (to use a tired food analogy) rating a burger by how good of a pizza it is.
>>716416606I don't think the people that like Elden Ring are the same people that enjoy Demon's Souls.
I would be completely fine with fagtosis if he just made a video where he explained to his sycophants that he is just an ignorant dumbass who is educated and intelligent enough to sound credible even when he is demonstrably wrong. Instead fagtosis lead to morons like Joseph Anderson gaining enough confidence to open their mouths
>>716416759Then you are wrong and I bet wearing nostalgia goggles
>>716369669 (OP)I'm stuck in level 6...
>>716417030Anon, please be honest. You think Matosis is one of the best game reviewers and essayists on Youtube, right? You think that he is intelligent, understands design, is concise and has deep knowledge of the things he is talking about, right?
It’s ironic that Fagtosis made a puzzle game when his braindead audience can barely tie their shoes
>>716417210He seems okay, I stopped watching his videos some time ago.
I really can't figure this level out.
>>716415668this is so funny, ds2 cucks never recovered from his review, ever
