A better question to ask is how the fuck are they still operating

Publicly traded company, they must communicate to shareholders with arrogant confidence until the moment they go bankrupt no matter what the reality is.

Must be funded by the government or some shit. That or money laundering.

They have made really good corporate gibs deals with governments. They only made Skull & Bones because if they cancelled it they would have had to pay a lot of those gibs back to the Singapore government.

so game can't be good if it doesn't sell bazillion copies? what a retarded mindset.

In a way, yes. If the game gets "critical praise," yet bombs, what good does it do? I thought the game was fine, but it wasn't anything remarkable.
You're not getting anything out of a game if it doesn't make any money. That's just business.

they get paid essentially a tax from their subsidiaries and developers that they work with along with royalties from game and merchandise revenue. They don't need governments to fund them, idiots on 4chan just think that is the obvious answer because they can't fathom how a massive industry can operate without government subsidies.

Rayman Legends was good too.
Funny how Rayman is their only consistently good IP yet they can't stop snorting the Far Cry 3 coke money they've been addicted to for so long. When they inevitably go under within the next five years, I hope Rayman (and Ass Creed) find a better home.

These games are literally made for money. You could have the most 10/10 game in the world and it doesn't fucking matter if it doesn't at least break even with the money spent on it.

They had multiple giga franchises on their hands and thought they are untouchable. They kinda were for a period of time. People would buy anything Assassin's Creed, anything far cry. But at some point, everyone started to realize that they are basically making the same game over and over with minor differences. Assassin's creed was the only franchise where the used to experiment a lot, but after Origins they gave up making the games bloated, thinking quantity>quality.
I think there is nobody in the studio to say "this is fucking sucks". My theory is that they get rid of those who do speak up (people who left and made E33)

Well, yea. Getting canucks involved kickstarted this whole DEI inclusive woke policy with diversity quotas all studios fall victim to once they allow the mutts in.

I remember thinking they were making derivative slop ever since 2014 or so when The Division came out. And for a French company, they sure love to milk the Tom Clancy name

The wagies are french-canadian.
Actual frenchmen + shit-eating quebecois working together is a storm of arrogance like nothing in the world can come close to.
