I honestly enjoyed Rorona the most out of the 3 mechanically. Totori always felt like I was never doing anything right. Meruru was better but got weight down by endless cut scenes at times. Havent played Lulula yet, decided to work through the ps3 games first. Currently on Ayesha, trying to get a grasp of the different crafting autism so I can beat the end game stuff since I got my ass kicked

JRPG's are the one genre that normalfags feel the need to attack at all times, they simply can't accept that some people enjoy turn based gameplay, and like selecting moves and equipment through a menu. Taking your time going from town to town, battling random encounters and watching a story unfold is cozy, everyone has adhd now it seems

That's because menus and turn based systems were born out of the hardware limitations of those times. We don't have those limitations anymore so it makes no sense to make games in that way just like it makes no sense to do pre-rendered background tank control games

I'm playing one, it's alright. A lot of weird filler and very simplistic "dungeons". Though I've just ran into an optional encounter were group of mons completely wiped my team, so I guess game is starting to get into gear.

Yes we do. The main limitation that turn based combat overcomes is party based combat. You control multiple units that then play off each other to fight an enemy party. You can't do party control in action games, the best you can do is having your party members act under AI or some bastard RtwP where you go into turn based combat menus to order your party around.

Its one of the best turnbased games I ever played. The 12 party member system gives plenty of variety in how you prepare for the bosses and gives the player more agency during the battles with how you can swap them around.

Thats literally the point of her initial game.
Her mom was supposedly a badass legendary adventurer and Totori is a timid weak, dull, literally retarded creature.
The entire opening of the game makes it apparent that shes going on to search for her missing mom despite all of this.
And, her vulnerable nature is the reason people like Melvia, Gino, and even Mimi were drawn to her.
They genuinely needed to care for her because while timid, they knew she wouldnt stay still and trek around searching for mom despite the dangers.
Totori was never a super genius nor did she inherit her mom's adventurer wits.
She was just a girl who wanted answers and how that sincerity brought her the tools she needed to uncover them.
The alchemy really was the friends she made along the way.
