I don't think any game has ever caused /v/'s most fervent spazlords to seethe quite as much as Elden Ring

Nightreign is carried by having Elden ring in its name and having Elden ring gameplay, most people agree it’s low effort slop, also no it’s not the second best selling DS3 sold twice that in less time

Simply put, Fromsoft is one of the ONLY AAA companies that should be allowed to exist after all the other companies fall IF they keep focusing on just making good games worth their price tag.

It might not be obvious to you (if you don't play video games) but Nightreign is not a game you can play while browsing the internet. You have a very strict time limit and need to make the most of that time limit, dashing all across the map until the session is complete.
People don't "talk about" Nightreign because they're busy PLAYING Nightreign.

I dont get the appeal of Nightreign. Shills cant even give a good reason for why its supposedly GOTY. Is it gonna be the same thing for Duskblood?

Apparently the chinese are buying this game in droves but that's not being reflected in the steam charts

Personally I really liked ER gameplay but the replayablility is a chore with it's spread-out open-word design, Nightreign provides me with a dense 40-minute long session of ER gameplay that the base game would in hours~ all while being relatively challenging.
Add to that the nightfarers and their abilities having abilities to counter some of the more frustrating boss quirks in ER.
Not to mention how fun and memorable the random shenanigans with strangers can be. obviously there are some asshats as well

It's easy to explain if you like some or all of the genres that it takes inspiration from.
It's Elden Ring jolly cooperation in the form of condensed 35-minute rushes. You don't have to worry about "builds" because your buffs and weapons to pick from are given at random.
Someone called it "Elden Ring + Risk of Rain 2" and that's a fair comparison.

I fucking love it, even if I get paired with shitty randoms a lot, but that's always been par for the course of jolly cooperation.

Turns out having a smaller map with a better game loop can make ER actually enjoyable. Preset characters also might be better too
