You've got to assume they originally planned to do something with her and it got canned in development hell. They had an entire system for NPCs being companions and they used it for absolutely fuck all except making champion powers worse.

Also absolutely wild that they wrote in an entirely new world from thousands of years ago with a completely new civilization to explore, then used it entirely as a backdrop for cutscenes while Link explored Hyrule Again But With A Shitty Underdark. Surely the original plan was for a past Hyrule / current Hyrule dual worlds mechanic, right?
