Problem is that it's a fighting game which is a pretty niche genre when it's made to be competitive. Casual audiences tend to like watching fighting games more than they like playing them and competitive players don't tend to have the bandwidth to focus on too many games at once so in order to pick up something new, they generally have to drop something else. They also have to factor in how many other players will be willing to drop whatever they're currently into to hop into it and pretty much guess if there will be enough players left to make it worth it or if they should just stick to the already established scenes they're in. Then there's the fact that in order to encourage more players to come over, it needs to have a solid gameplay hook and while the game does look competently put together, I'm not seeing anything mechanically that makes it stand out. Looks pretty Mortal Kombat+tag team and I'm not sure that will be enough.
