just move the left/rigth camera buttons from the bumpers to the left/right stick/dpad and it plays like a regular TPS game

the only thing you can't do is shooting while moving back or sideways, otherwise it's completely fine

I don't rotate the camera with the shoulder buttons, I use the strafe on shoulders config, always have, it's kino-esque
I play this game at least once a year, it's not the greatest game ever, in fact it's objectively mediocre, but I love it with all my heart and soul

it's a disgrace what they did with the localization however

The KH and MML control schemes are fairly similar but what KH has that MML doesn't is an adaptive camera that tries to reorient itself. In MML, the player has to put more effort into controlling the camera via the shoulder buttons, which evidently is too much for some people.

I just flip the strafe and turn buttons and play it as if it were tank controls. Yes I know the camera changes, I don't care. I'm steering mega man and going forward and backward along the way I'm facing. L1 and R1 are used to circle strafe around enemies and that's it

I've never seen anyone talk shit about changing the controls. People often say to bind dash to a shoulder button in X.
Of course I play with the default though. Had no clue you could rebind controls as a kid and I just got used to having my thumb cover 3 buttons at once to the point that its comfortable and I even change some games like Cuphead and 20XX to play like that.
