DS2 is good, I even like it more than DS3 personally. But it does have some pretty big flaws, especially with level consistency. The forest in FotFG is always pointed out, but the fact that the other side of that dungeon has a beautiful ocean with the fortress on the cliffsid that looks amazing is kinda jarring. About half of the areas look great, half look bad. Some have weird design elements, the open ceiling in the main hall of Drangleic Castle where it’s raining all the time. Why would you make a castle like that? The floor looks brand new despite that. It’s one of those games where the nitpicks congregate into a valid complaint as a whole. The DLC areas are all great at least, though I’ll never defend those optional side dungeons in them. Except Sir Alonne’s dungeon, that one is alright and I’ve never had to repeat it so my anecdotal experience with it is fine. I don’t really like the bosses in the game that much, I like the levels more.

It's all mostly subjective in the end, so it doesn't really matter. You can support your subjective take with objective information ofcourse, but you're still only lending your opinion more credibility because ultimately you're just interpreting the information. Him not understanding this and constantly making subjective claims that he calls objective truth is my favourite part of Mauler's video series, his ADP section is a perfect example of people not understanding that others can hold different opinions and place value in different aspects of a game than them.

DS2 definitely had some heavy gangs in the beginning, though once you get used to it, you just star abusing the bow and it is mostly fine. Hell, there are some points in the game like the lava room where you can go left, climb up, kill everything with a bow and go back down. Though definitely the game I abused the bow the most. Overall not so bad. Bosses are a bid simplistic, like in 1, but at least the more fun ones don't just go into 30-60 second long combos like in ER. Though overall I probably like ER the most, for a variety of reasons. DS3 is the real black sheep.
Sekiro is the best. Never played Bloodborne and Demon Souls.

The only good thing about DaS2 is the fist moveset and bone fist moveset. Everything else about the game sucks ass. Interesting ideas but horribly executed.

Nothing works quite right in DS2.

The controls for Monster Hunter actually have been incredibly shit until fairly recently. The game was fine very much in spite of the controls.
