>>716454494 Because boomers. But I looked up and it seems the ps1 used 10W and PS2 fat used 50W. This is from sticker at the bottom which lists maximum values, so in use it would probably be less most of the time and only hit that occasionally. Modern LED lamps are around 10W and the incandescent lamps from back in the day varied a hell of a lot, but you could say the average was around 60 or so. >>716454606 The TV doesn't need to be on.

>>716457491 Look at this >>716457480 it's 360 KB. Let's say each game save takes 500 KB, you still get to save 36 games. And for a lot of games there's no reason to keep the save after finishing it so you just delete it and go play something else. I've never ran out of space.
>>716454254 My 16mb card worked fine the entire time never had an issue. But it was weird it required an official 8mb card inserted into some sort of enclosure. Then you could press a button to swap between the 8mb official and the 8mb of third party memory

Save files on PS2 were often overbloated as fuck for some reason. Some games have saves take fuckall space even though they had a lot going on. I recall Rayman Revolution taking like a whole megabyte even though there's not that much going on in the save file.

I had this crap because the store was sold out of regular ps2 memory cards. You had boot up small cd's software everytime before booting up a game. Though you could compress saves.
