Yes. I do it in Overwatch daily. But now I also do it in Rivals. It's simple, if my team is doing bad, I'll just afk. You're not entitled to my carry just because the rigged matchmaking expects me to boost you. In a team game everybody should be carrying their weight. Otherwise, you don't deserve to rank up. I also coerce players into screaming at me in voice chat or use bad language in the chat so I can get them banned. I want to win, but at the same time I want to destroy these games. I'll gladly admit I'm part of the problem

Some kid killed himself because my cousin jokingly said he stole something in an MMO, and at the time there was a huge witch hunt community watch thing. Game was the only thing keeping the kid going.

I used to CC people for over 30 minutes at a time when hunters were broken and none of their CC shared diminishing returns. I've sabotaged paid raid carries, I've outed some retards who gloated about paying some ho in our guild for nudes when their wives ran the guild. I've pretended to be cute, shut-in south american girl to scam some mexican dude out of his account and all his in-game possessions. I drove some dude to sending me death threats because I undercut anything he posted for months at a time.

I also stream snipe. No screen cheating is one thing when it's a game with friends, but if its a competitive game you're making a conscious decision to give me free vision. Also, if I lose I can just start screaming slurs into the mic and chat to get them banned.

Because the UK government didn't actually put in place any system to do this verification, they didn't even bother making recommendation guidelines. They literally passed the law then said "Alright every service we deem adult, come up with a way to verify. You're problem, not ours"

This leads to a bunch of patchwork solutions. Some like Discord just do a face scan with AI to guess your age as the easy solution. Larger companies that already have ID verification systems in place for account verification like Twitter and Facebook just ask for your ID to run through the same system.

Some sites are just closing up shop to UK IPs entirely and not bothering. Which for anyone who isn't Facebook HUEG is the right thing to do, if you comply at all and fuck up your encryption and have a leak or your system is legally deemed to not work well enough you're opening your asshole to being sued by the fucking UK government.

What are the unironic arguments in favor of this stuff? Just to combat "toxicity"?

I think it's also a new tool for censorship, smaller websites are not gonna be able to implement it an UK government can just block them in the UK.
