This leads to a bunch of patchwork solutions. Some like Discord just do a face scan with AI to guess your age as the easy solution. Larger companies that already have ID verification systems in place for account verification like Twitter and Facebook just ask for your ID to run through the same system.
Some sites are just closing up shop to UK IPs entirely and not bothering. Which for anyone who isn't Facebook HUEG is the right thing to do, if you comply at all and fuck up your encryption and have a leak or your system is legally deemed to not work well enough you're opening your asshole to being sued by the fucking UK government.
