The problem was that he deleted it in the first place and they all left their containment board and contaminated the rest of the website worse than what /b/ did to /trv/ that fateful 2007 day. It used to be that /new/ was seen as filled with genuinely deranged paranoid ultra-right wing individuals, no other board wanted to touch them, and they were generally closed off. But they flooded the rest of the site after being deleted (which moot did because they had become /stormfront/ and had a large overlap of users) instead of leaving, and then there was an actual coordinated effort on Stormfront to astroturf "malleable boards", I remember screencaps from Stormfront back then. Even after the board was reinstated, it was too late. It didn't help that moot deleted /r9k/ at the same time so all the ronery fags came here too and all mixed to become incels. This was around the time Anita Sarkeesian outrage threads and culture war threads were spiking up.
