We never exited the vidya dark age

The kids born into it just grew up and now think that's what games are supposed to be like

Funny how bin Laden single-handedly changed the trajectory of western media forever

CoD is nowhere near as popular as it once was. Sure, the series has its fans and is still somewhat popular, but it’s not the cultural juggernaut it was during 2007-2013.

I would say this gen is overall better because at least it’s a lot more feasible for devs to make games that aren’t modern military shooters. People who say the 7th gen was better only remember the good games from the 7th gen, ignoring the fact it was the dark age for many genres.

yeah it only has like 100mio players, peanuts
you don't realize how big CoD is because you stepped out of that sphere and think everyone else did so as well.
It's like LOL, the player numbers may be exaggerated, but its still incredible big. A playerbase that only exists within that sphere and doesn't play anything else and is disconnected from anything else.

The particularly sad thing is that even the ones like Animal Crossing are absolute dogshit these days.
