I do think the absolute massive quantity of things to do does make up for the slight issues this game has.

Yeah but story is not something important in a video game, gameplay first.

True, to that I do want to add the Hyrule castle raid, which does fulfill the dungeon experience of exploring, combat, finding your way around, fighting a boss, and even getting a heart container.
On top of that you have (some) quests, shrines and areas that do scratch the dungeon itch here and there.
It's an absolute all you can eat buffet for Zelda fans, not everything is great or pristine and a lot of things can be perfected ( I swear to fuck disable eating mid combat and photography quests), but there is enough content for several games here.

Not "kinda overrated" massively over hyped.
I'm not gonna lie and say I didn't enjoy any of it, but the second I completed all the lightroots I realized I no longer gave a solitary fuck about completing any of the rest of it and I quit playing shortly after. The game is boring and not designed well, and they don't get a free pass like last time just because people were sick of linear Zelda.
