I'm in Finland, experiencing the hottest summer in my three decades of existence. Three straight weeks of 30C/86F temps, topping out at 34C/93F one day. May not sound much to someone in Florida, Arizona etc. but for someone who can also reasonably expect -30C/-22F in the winter months, it's a hell of a swing and definitely not something I'm used to. It's all high humidity heat too, like 95-99%.

It's supposed to dip a little now, but forecasts are still giving us a couple weeks of noon heat hitting 28C+. Heatwaves of this magnitude and duration are definitely abnormal for my region. The AC's having to battle the heat energy stored in the building itself.

Most of the smog shit people post is from decades ago and the general push in China right now is ALL in on green and renewable energy anywhere possible with electric vehicles being heavily subsidized by the government, to the point that they're cheaper than regular automobiles.

There's lots of reasons for it, and a big one is that China is getting hit hard by climate change-induced desertification. Climate change in particular wiill benefit countries like Russia and Canada while causing enomorous issues for anywhere near the equator, including most of the American South and, especially, Africa.

Funny enough, with current trends, it will be the U.S. and India that become the biggest contributors to the problem. So expect that in the next ten years caring about the environment will be labeled communism and any environmental law will be seen as interference from the CCP.
