It happens more and more these days. I find myself lacking the concentration to get really into gaming.

It's not because of Tiktok or anything. I don't watch shortform content. I just have adult responsibilities. I can't ever game for more than 2 hours because I get the urge to go and do something. Gotta do my laundry. Gotta clean the sink. Gotta get lunch going. Gotta go and withdraw some money from the bank so I have cash on hand. Gotta mow the lawn. Gotta eat lunch. Gotta get dinner going. And on and on.

When I was a kid I could do a 12 hour gaming session on Pokemon Platinum. Now I'm lucky if I can concentrate for an hour and a half without checking the clock.

Because my time is limited and I also have an interest in documentaries and anime, I default to games I can play without using too much of my attention so I can watch whatever is on my second monitor. Stuff like Spelunky, Binding of Isaac, Civilization 4/5/6, Terraria, Stardew Valley, and pretty much everything I can play without having to read.

Hell, I even play Picross and Minesweeper while watching stuff.

I don't have enough time to watch what I want to watch and play what I want to play independently of one another. I have to combine both of them or else I end up falling behind on one or the other.

For example, I still haven't beaten E33 yet because I only have about 3 hours a week where I can game without having to catch up on any videos I missed and I don't have any chores. I just beat the 2 axons and I've owned the game since launch.
