I really loved this game, but Alain is a complete, fully formed character and as such you really should just pick Scarlett, the game is written that way and doing anything else just doesn't make sense. My personal favorite was Melisandre so I create a custom mercenary that's me that romances her while Alain marries his destined wife.

I guessing anti contraceptive magic or potions should fix the accidental pregnancy issue so you don't end up dirtying the royal bloodline ay op.
