>>716534920>I'd play as the nigger if it was goodIf so then youre not a hypocrite, just a retard
>muh opun world rpg mechanic skinner box ain't good, kill yourselfI am not alusing to any specific games if thats what youre thinking and there are games that i would consider bad i just wouldnt have the audacity to insist that theyre bad objectively. And just because something is subjective doesnt make it invalid either.
>there is no subjectivity to truth. There is no truth in which video game is better than another. You say this one is deeper or this one more polished, but there are many things that make a game good. We all like a game that feels good, controls good, has a good camera, has good mechanics, has good balance, but are controls more important than mechanics, is balance more important than depth? Is player expression more important than balance? Thats a good example, games with more freedom in character builds are intrinsically less balanced -- the absence of that freedom would intrinsically make it more balanced, everyone would have access to the same tools and it would be fair -- and at that, in this context i could say that it would objectively be more fair. Yet, i couldnt say itd be ojectively more fun.id be inclined to say the opposite but someone else might care more about balance.
>video games are mental exercises and mental stimulation. a video game that accomplishes only one or neither is not fucking good. And let me guess, that stimulation only counts when it comes purely from mashing buttons? You cant honestly tell me that story means literally nothing, id rather play a dark fantasy hack n slash with 9/10 combat than a 10/10 gameplay rts where you run a burger chain, the setting alone affects the players enjoyment of the game i.e. fun
