Pretty great. My D&D 3.5e adaptation is almost done, should be ready for release any moment now.

Any ideas on how to make a slow day progression system? I've been doing a slow burn receiving hypnosis RP with the AI, but most of the time I want a nice, lengthy scene that goes for multiple responses, but it usually ends the scene or interrupts it at the end of the first response. The AI has no real sense of time, and I might be alone with a VR device for two hours and get a five minute scene before the hypnotist returns.

Incorrect. Writing is absolutely easier, anyone can do it and you will find mountains of unheard of slop novels across amazon and book stores. However art is surface level for analyzing. What you see is what you get; literally. The AI doesn't know how long it needs to write for (and thus can't effectively structure a story for an RP), which makes it difficult for it to know where exactly it needs to go, especially if the prompter wants a completely original story and takes it in directions that will mess with the AI's predictive model, because it operates on predicting what should go next, not how to steer you towards the plot.

Everyone has their own preferences. I only really do smut so take my opinion with that in mind.
I don't really like Gemini because I've never gotten a satisfying NSFW scenario out of it. Chatgptlatest I like for setting up scenarios but the filter is godawful, and JBs tend to make the formatting look crappy. I like Deepseek chat for its ease of use, the prose can be crappy but if you steer it with context from smarter models it tends to be fine. Deepseek R1 currently is my favorite catch-all, it can be repetitious but again it's better if you steer it with context. Claude models people generally agree are the best, personally I think they're too positive and too worried about consent even if it's implied.

CAI was a nice way to congregate creators. With sites like Chub or Spicy Chat, most people use these sites for bot hosting rather than explicit bot usage. The models (at best) can kind of get the characters to behave correctly, but people want quality chats. You can't get that from free services right now.
People who want ERP slop will gradually refine their tastes and tire of the slop, and those wanting a more meaningful story will seek out models with a larger context to allow for longer storytelling.
I was using chutes to get access to a nice DS model, but they started charging. Since then, I've lost interest in ERPing in the short term since there's no free model that doesn't make me cringe.

Most model's I've used have a bunch of quantizations. Click on it and go for the one with the most downloads. On the right hand side are a bunch of versions. Pick the one that will fit in your VRAM - the amount of context you wanna RP with.

Yes. Say I have Player's Handbook for AD&D2E with its set of class rules for fighters. Core rulebook is always 100. If I want to make a special snowflake fighter, I activate Complete Fighter's Handbook whose entries are 110 or something. It means its rules override the vanilla PHB's rules. Honestly, it's just a numbering system. I'm not even sure how well it works. There's way too much material to test. If I have to choose between testing my lorebooks and adapting more, I'd always adapt more.

W++ is just tokens wasted on commas and other formatting characters, it doesn't do anything and fucks up existing tokens sometimes as well.
list vs. plain text shouldn't matter in terms of conveying information unless the model is retarded.
However, plain text is always superior because it can be used to convey a writing/speech style at the same time. Look up "interviewer" format cards.
