We kill or neutralize those benefactors, so she was now free to exert that power without upper management punishing her for not following directions.

Why does that one random Misbeggotten have the magical Golden Order sword in the Snowfields? Because the Misbegotten were meant to be Radagon's children or at least created by him. That is why a lot of them are red heads. That was just totally cut and Radagon became a religious fundamentalist that focused on orthodoxy instead and the Misbegotten were turned into people punished for messing around with the Crucible. That plot and characterization was dropped entirely but they didn't have time to figure out where else to shove that Easter Egg sword.
Take Marika, the Nox are called Marika's descendants in the game files and in v1.0, no day 1 patch, she is heavily linked to them all over. Then you play a modern version of the game and instead she has very little link to them other than sharing an ethnicity and the Nox were rewritten to be linked to the Carians. That whole plotline and characterization was cut out and remade right before release.

I never inferred that Radagon comes FROM Marika. I inferred that they're two beings that swap "existing" at that time. It's left intentionally vague. I'm not saying I'm right, but I assumed they're an inverse of the paladin brothers we find. With Elden Ring they left some things even vaguer than past entries. A big thing with Shadow of the Erdtree is how fucking nebulous what Miquella wants is, if the Haligtree is even a good entity, if it could ever have overthrone the Greater Will, if in the present day Miquella WILL come back, why Miquella wants to be fucked by his half-brother. I stopped at Radahn 2 because the fight was kind of aids, which reinforces to me how they're scrapping the barrel both mechanics wise and narrative wise over at From Software. So in that sense the dlc isn't terrible because it just shows you Miquella flavor of fucking shit up, it's still just weird twink yaoi plot twist RIGHT at the end.
