I had a PC (technically a Mac at first) since I was 6 years old. KB+M is just ingrained in me. I got into racing games briefly and bought one of those $300 racing wheel & pedal sets and it felt too weird, so i went back to KB+M

Pretty much the same for me. I don't hate controllers, in fact i bought one recently, but i only use them in games that aren't meant to be challenging by testing reflexes and/or precision so i mainly use them for turn-based vidya and the like.

How do you evn do the fine control with a key on the keyboard? They either actuate or they don't?
I remember in most racing games you need to steer with using 85-90% of your full controller steering angle or you'd lose control. If you do 100% it wil cost you a lot lap time and you will fly off into the gras or into the wall.

That's the neat part, you don't. It's a constant ping pong game of hitting A and D (or whatever your left and right steer buttons are). You get used to it pretty quick though

It's better if you play without lock-on, I suppose. But the games really break when you do that anyway. Lock-on is gay in general. People swear by analog movement but that completely falls apart with lock on where you're now just strafing left and right infinitely.

yep...I bought into the FOMO and bought the game on launch. Going from the high of the Corpo intro to the buggy, unplayable mess of the main game was one of the worst bait & switch experiences I've ever had playing a game. Supposedly it's all "fixed" now but I'm not going back. FUCK CDPR

This dogshit. Tried playing it twice, and never made it past the city after the first boss. Gameplay is just so utterly braindead and boring.

I played and beat it with m+kb around 2015. I think that one mod that fixed it was available at the time, I just couldn't kick. Played it on a laptop and probably got like 15-20 frames throughout it.

I quit right before Cataclysm after having a revelation regarding getting nowhere in life playing this shit. I should have spent more time working on myself instead of being an obese NEET playing WoW for >12 hours a day for 3 years. It's more tedious to try and accurately (and swiftly) control the camera using a gamepad rather than a mouse. I don't think controllers are dogshit, i am using one right now, but i'm playing a turn-based jarpig so accuracy and speed doesn't matter in the slightest.

I played it KB+M pre-fix and with the mouse not locked in window so if I ever scrolled my mouse too far left and tried to attack (left click) the game would alt+tab
It's still one of my favorite games of all time

I played this version for like 400 hours actually.
I enjoyed it so much that I tried to get all achievements. I had to beat the game like 10 or 15 times to get all the boss souls and craft the weapons. Then I finally crafted the last one and didn't get the achievement. I checked at least 20 times if I really do have every weapon. Then I tried putting them on the ground, cause maybe the game didn't register that I crafted one of them.
Turns out you can't throw these special weapons on the ground. You just delete them from your inventory.

Based, AC6 though in particular is way better with M/KB. It's debatable for their other games but it actually makes me sad seeing people play AC6 on a controller just using hard lock, the game looks so much more boring, especially against the later bosses that start warping around the place. It's kino actually losing track of them and flicking around just to dodge their attack at the last second. It's right out of an anime. I'm sure they didn't but it honestly feels like they intended the game to be played on it.

Playing Xenoblade X before DE is probably my most recent regret. A lot of my gripes with the game got addressed there, I'd probably have a lot more fun there.

Dark Souls was fine with KB+M though, even PTDE is just one fix away from being comfortably playable. Playing Souls games on a controller feels odd after that. Same with Monster Hunter.

I always play without lock on, except I occasionally flash it on before attacking to avoid whiffing. It's amazing how many "hard" bosses can be overcome by strafing around a little and making them whiff everything without even rolling. Not really a matter of money. I play exclusively on PC and I keep buying different controllers for different emulated games/systems or just to check them out. But I don't use them playing most PC games and ports unless something is unplayable without one (like Nioh that kept disconnecting my keyboard if I didn't have a controller plugged in).
