I read (non porn) fanfics on my Nintendo DS using the Internet browser game thing when I was a kid.

It was my music player for a while when my Walkman broke.

I put Linux on my PS3 but I didn't have anything useful to do with it since I already had a computer.

This damn thing could play gifs from the browser, even download vids from some sites. Absolute beast of a portable console for the gamer who likes to jack off on the go.

I'm pretty sure normalfags have been using their consoles more as a generic media hub than a gaming console for like 15-ish years now.

I primarily bought my PS3 to play blu-rays, it was among the cheapest players back then. But I did get a few games afterwards like MGS4.

I bought a PSP Go from a turbonormie last year, the nigga didn't bother wiping anything from it.
The memory was mostly occupied by music (huge playlist full of absolute SLOP from the late 00's/very early 10's, songs I almost forgot existed that were being spammed on the radio/MTV and such at the time) and a shitload of pictures that I felt uncomfortable being in possession of. Family barbecues, a random baby, random house party, you name it.
I checked the savefiles and the dude didn't even play all that much. I'm guessing he used it as a fancy mp4 player that he can sometimes game on. A nice lad.

I didn't really give a shit desu. He uploaded them from a computer that already has all of that and more on it, so it's on him to keep all of that throughout the years.
Also, the savefiles showed that he had used the console like a week prior to play God of War for a little bit, so he probably browsed through his stuff as well. I hope he did, at least. I would've.
It did feel weird to erase this many memories from such a different time. I listened to the playlist with my sisters before I did, this thing was a fucking time capsule.

I still use my PS3 with CFW for watching anime and movies. There's even an android app for controlling the video player so I barely have to touch the controller.

I've thought about getting an android based e ink tablet, but for now at least I'm happy with the switch, it's a bit heavy, and the battery only lasts about four or five days, but the OLED screen off white text on pure black is pretty easy to look at, even in a dark room
Mostly I'm just reluctant to buy another thing, the switch just does everything

PSP was absolutely a multimedia device before smart phones were common. I'd listen to music on my PSP all the time. I'd also transcode videos so I could watch them on my lunch break or on the bus.

It was kino. The PSP was crazy. I even did a hello world homebrew.

I haven't tested any of the web friendly codecs like VP8/VP9.
It struggles with h.265/HEVC and that has to be transcoded from another device for smooth playback. It plays anything in h.264/AVC just fine and that's majority of the pirated content online anyway.

I though some fag used a DS for his professional camera setup. something about the speed of it? funny.

I had an M3 DS Real for my DS, along with games I also had some porn videos on there. The screen wasn't very good for that, and also it sucked because it wasn't actually a web browser, I only had room for a few favorite videos that got repeated a lot, and I would cycle them out.

Same, also to watch movies, download a ton of anime episodes to watch on roadtrips and some youtube videos...
Now that i think about it, i think the PSP is the only one who ever gave me that much freedom of media, i tried some stuff on my wii but it was just easier to pirate a movie and watch on my pc.
