You don't play new game, they don't get more money.
You don't buy any game, they go bankrupt.

You are doing a great job, cripple them all, they deserve it, too. (Exceptions are rare but do exist though)

Because they use this in a case study for Peter Pan Syndrome, where adults refuse to grow up.

In reality its just the same as watching lets say Back to School with Rodney Dangerfield.

Its not that you are stuck, its just nothing out there interests you so you use old media as entertainment.

But corpos like to think this is a problem like everything else is a problem and if its a problem its obviously something dangerous so it must be made illegal as quickly as possible.

like how the UK is making is illegal to do C++ programing now.

It doesn't?
Just means they can resell already developed old games at near zero overhead cost, and there are people who will buy.

they could easily start remaking those consoles and games rather than leaving all the money in the used market, retro gayming will only grow over time

All games for systems released before 2000 are already sold. All the remaining sealed copies were sold to collectors in the early 00s.
I think you're confused about people playing old games, but the article specifically says systems (like people playing on a Super Nintendo, instead of a Switch, or a modern PC)

Its not set in stone yet but they are considering making a move and restricting it because people are using basic programing to get around the censorship bans.

You must play the online game.
You must be in the GaaS ecosystem.
You must be connected to the internet at all times.
You must pay the subscription fee to play online.
You must submit the age verification.
You must not expect anything beyond a temporary license to play the "game" for a limited, undisclosed amount of time.

They literally can't though, all those high quality plastics and durable silicone parts can no longer be produced because manufacturers have optimized production for cheap parts that can be produced quickly, break easily, and are hard to repair on your own.

>gaming SYSTEMS released before 2000
bullshit
14% is believable for people playing pre-2000 games on modern systems, but there's no way that many people are still using old hardware

PS1 really was the best console of all time. PS2 was good too, but PS1 was the absolute peak.

>Why does this worry them?
because there already have been so many games rleased that you cannot possible finnish all of them in one lifetime.
if we take lets say only the period from 1990 to 2010.
everyone would have enough games to play for one lifetime and never would need to purchase a new game ever again.

Because they are cheap. Companies cant controll the older consoles. You can get their games for free. And the games are better and more fun and complete.

From the same nation that brought you slow Napoleonic style marching towards machine gun fire at the Somme or wearing bright red tunics out in the open while Boers brain them from 200m behind a wagon.

I'm a slav. I'm upset by how retarded a lot of the online population is and by the knowledge that you have the right to vote. I'm willing to be you weren't even aware that the idea you were spouting as fact is rooted in a single joke tweet and literally nothing else.

The craziest thing to come out of all of this is devs actually going BACK to make games for these old consoles. Seems like every other day I see a new game that looks interesting and it turns out it's coming out for the Sega Genesis or Dreamcast. Even Matthewmatosis' new game was designed to be played on the Game Boy.

Oh I will add, the burger government did actually issue a statement that devs should move away from c and c++. That's as close as any real event gets to what you're claiming.

doesn't make a difference. if you buy old games legally (second-hand) they make no profit either.

the only reason it makes sense for them to crack down on romsites is because of all the ways old games are re-released now (collections, subscription services, etc.). Which makes me wonder, before those became as popular as they are today, did publishers give any fucks at all about romsites?

Because if you have easy access to old games you might not want to play their new shit. GaaS was a blessing for them because now they can just shut down the old game once they don't want you playing it anymore.

They can't command instant updates in order to make your old systems obsolete
