then it took like 15 years or some shit for it to come out, and I stopped caring after like 5. So did everyone else I know. The really hardcore downloaded the jap version and played there, then got bored and stopped and told pretty much everyone how mediocre it was.

The biggest problem with the game is that people just find the meta thing and grind that until it becomes mind-numbingly boring (which is usually about 20mins). They need a system in place that stops any particular piece of content being the meta and makes all of them meta but on a rotating timeframe so that the content is varied.

Hero Siege has a system like that in place with satanic zones which puts map modifiers on a new zone every 30/60 minutes.
You know what happens? People don't play when the Satanic Zone is on a layout they don't like or the mods are bad.
You can theory some fine tuned systems all you want but in the end people will flock to what is considered best gold per hour. Only way to not have this is by making a pvp online only esports title.

Yeah, it is. You can tell from the lighting and the way the skin texture looks-too smooth, too shiny. Base game doesn't render like that, even with max settings.
